-
The Vango s seem a pretty decent tent. J has one and it held up pretty well in the snow..

I know the Vango banshee 200 gets a good reputation on here and After spending a night in the 300 (its slighlty bigger brother) I can see why.

they sell for about £80.
If you dont fancy splashing that much cash then I can recomend the gelert mongoose used it on the mourne mountain marathon and its cracking.

Its pretty much an exact copy of the vango, comes in at 500g heavier but you could get that down a bit if you got lighter pegs etc and It sells for about £40.

hi thanks for the advice i think i have made my mind up on the banshee as she dose look like the ideal tent for me. thanks
-
they both look likw good tents, I still have the wee pro action but Im tempted to really splash out on a tent this year and get something like a hilleberg or terra nova, im not paying a mortgage at the min so dont think I will have a better chance lol

I'm pretty sure you can pick up a Banshee 200 on Ebay for less than £75 delivered as I had been looking for one .. they are a really good tent for money and weight but the lack of porch does let them down a little !
-
never thought of the porch as i think ill need one to cook if the weathers bad is there any with a good size porch anyone knows of
-
I think you are about to embark on one of the many "grail" quests commonly associated with outdoors kit ie - the perfect piece at the right weight, the right size at the right price.... good luck sir on your endeavors :D
-
i no i need something with enough space and somewhere to cook and if its light thats even better. I was looking at the vango typhoon dose anyone no if thats a good tent and is 3.75 kg just to heavy as i do like that tent
-
have a look at the vango tempest 200. i've just bought one but havent stayed in it yet, i've pitched it though and it does look very good.
