A man armed with a knife has tried to sexually assault a woman in a country park in north Belfast, the police have said.

It happened as the 35-year-old was walking in the Cave Hill Country Park between 1630 and 1730 BST on Monday.

The victim was taken to hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.

Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening, a police spokesperson said.
