Hi Robo, it depends on what type of paddling your after (moving water or placid water) & where your from for easy of access . I paddle a lot of moving water on the Blackwater and Bann if you are near to south Ulster your more than welcome to join me/us.

Let me know where you are from and I'll try to help.

Lowa.

It's perfectly legal to kayak/canoe any of Northern Ireland's lakes, as long as they are natural, ie not man made. Castlewellan springs to mind and i'm sure there are others.

Maybe we should plan a quick Saturday morning run - maybe Minnowburn or Jaynes Shore at the Quoile?
Seems like there's more and more canoeists on here and I'm itching to get out (and I always need a hand to ge the Canadian back on the car :D)

im up for heading out soon but van failed psv and is up for retest in about 2 weeks or so, so wont be out till then. i own a discovery 174 which ive only paddled tandem, tried it once on my own but was too windy.  so if i am going out ive got a spare seat for anyone who fancies a try at it , i also have paddle n life aid. ;D and J i fancy a go in ur charles river , i want one of those too haha but kayak is my next purchase. :D

Go to Song of the Paddle forum and search for trips etc. BigAl usually goes out on a Thursday evening somewhere. Great way to meet fellow canoeists and pick up tips and info. Great pictures of trips etc from all over.

I'm in there now and again as is Jono.
