Title: Sleep mat
Post by: chris on March 07, 2010
Just a heads up in case anyone is thinking of buying a "self inflating" mat.

Whilst on the subject, another good self-inflating mat is the Vango Trek.  I have the standard length one, but it also comes in a compact (3/4) length.  It's not as good a price as that Karrimor, but I bought mine in Surf Mountain for around £18-20.  It's very similar to the Alpkit Slim Airic for both weight/size, but its £10 cheaper and having slept on both now I think there is next to nothing between them.  If I had to buy another mat, I'd definately save the money and go for the Vango.

I'd throw a vote in for the Alpkit Wee Airic. The 3/4 length is £20 delivered and weighs 450g.

I just noticed that the 3/4 karrimore mat is an "ultralight". Its £7.99 and weighs 450g.

I own both the "Karrimor 3/4 and full length ultralight" and must say not a bad mat for the price... would be good to try a different, more expensive make to see if spending more makes it worth it !
