Title: What do you think?
Post by: chris on March 02, 2010
Right I've pretty much got an Ice axe sorted for £30. But now that the time has come to buy it I've developed cold feet (no pun intended!)
I'm finding it hard to justify buying it because I know that if I do we'll get to Scotland and there wont be a pick of snow anywhere, but if I dont it'll be the biggest freeze in 200 years or something stupid!

If i was you chris i would buy it. Its not the end of the world when we hit Ben Nevis and theres no snow, i'm sure there'll be more trips in snowy conditions. And by that time you might not be lucky enough to get an axe for £30.

Too true! Best idea is probably either to buy closer to the time when you have a better idea of the weather or just see it as a useful weapon in the event of the breakdown of society or if you have to tackle a burglar.
