Hello all,
I'm a cycle courier by day. Been into the outdoors and photography since I was a nipper. There's a vagabond in my heart; I enjoy distance trekking and sneaky camps and aspire to be a kick-ass mountaineer having found my dad's Messner book when little.
Have done WHW, GR70, had a wee look at Everest from the bottom, took my motorbike round Spain and Morocco to climb a few mountains including a winter traverse of the Sierra Nevada.
I did more bushcraft as a kid: lying in ditches hiding from farmers, building huts and failing to set fire to anything other than dry gorse.
Saying that, I did the Woodsmoke expedition skills course a few years ago (when I had a strange notion people would pay me to be an expedition photographer).
I've made the mistake of carrying too much so am gradually converting to lighter gear (after ditching all the superfluous kit). I often travel alone as it doesn't bother me and I don't know many adventurous types (I feel that might change). I do have a few friends getting more into the joys of the outdoors and my aims for this year are to visit some of the mountains south of the border and enter the MMM.
Sorry if that's a bit long, but now you know me :D
I look forward to partaking in this forum, hopefully on and off the computer.

Dude! Small world eh? Just joined up myself. How's the blog coming along?

Hey Craig
Welcome to the forum mate!
-
Thanks for the welcome guys!
Simon - small world indeed...it's funny how you stumble on these things. Have been very busy with house moving/clearing duties so not done any more to the blog although it is up in an 80% state. Tomorrow is work, gym, out in the evening, so maybe Thursday I'll add the finishing touches (to stage 1 at any rate).
I've been having too much fun reading through the posts here - must get some sleep!!!!

Welcome Craig. I love the hiding from the farmer bit but in these restrictive days, you'd probably get an asbo ;)
