I'd wanted a goose for Xmas this year for a bit of a change but they're £40+ from the butcher. Noticed that Lidl are selling frozen geese for £20.99. They're from Poland and Hungary rather than local but I can't imagine that makes a huge difference.

noticed that myself Jonno, i fancied a goose instead of the same old turkey.though i,ll be at the g/fs house as usual so its turkey and ham on the 25th.
might get one of those or one of their ducks for my own place.
is it illegal to shoot or kill geese?
-
It,s legal to shoot them in the season!!

Now I just need to work out how to cook the bugger!
-
over an open fire mate! on a spit!
surely its not a bad idea?
in fact i think its quite a good one for a meet up. defrost it,cut it into reasonable sized pieces and spit roast it,or wrap in tin foil and buck it in the fire.
wouldnt be the first bird id spit roasted believe me ;)
:D :D :D
