Title: Banjo Bannon
Post by: MG1 on October 06, 2009
Newry man Banjo Bannons book is on the shelves on the 9th of this month. He talks about being left on his own while trying to summit MT Everest his 2 attempts on K2 were he had to duck tape his climbing partners skull to keep it together. And many other attempts on the worlds highest mountains. He featured in off the beaten track on BBc. Should be a good read.

That video is awesome!  I've had the priviledge to see Ama Dablam in real life - it is frighteningly beautiful.

I've always wanted to climb big mountains - that video reminds me why, and in a sad way, reminds me it was over 2 years since I had to abandon (the easy) Island Peak... and I haven't seen anything higher than Ben Nevis since  :-\
*must* hit the Alps next year

...and get Banjo's book
