Man rescued from Mournes with suspected leg fracture

Mourne Mountain Rescue Team were alerted just before 3pm on Monday about a man that required assistance.

He had been descending from the summit of Slieve Binnian towards Wee Binnian when he slipped and fell, according to MMRT.

A team of 14 responded and found the casualty in very difficult terrain below the summit of the mountain.

He was treated on scene for a suspected lower leg fracture and mild hypothermia.

The team stretchered him off the peak to waiting team vehicles and then onward to the ambulance service which took him to hospital.

The incident was stood down just before 8.20pm.
