Title: What started in the Mournes.... (is now over 20,000ft)
Post by: seanbranagh on October 29, 2015
I absolutely love the Mournes, for countless different reasons. Probably mostly for the fire they started in me that makes me want to take on new, bigger, higher challenges.

Just back from Nepal, the latest challenge for me. Island Peak 20,305ft / 6189m.
It was tough but absolutely worth it.

I of course had my Gopro with me for anyone who might be interested;

Thanks for sharing that with us.
Nepal is all right but the Mournes are hard to beat!

Haha, yes, I think you might be right.
I actually miss the Mournes since it has been a month since I have been there because of being in the Himalayas. That is strange I know.
The Mournes are much more personal than the Himalayas for me at least.

Haha, No cable car on Island Peak unfortunately.

I didn't realise there was a list of highest summits for forum members but I see I am already on there for Kilimanjaro last year.
I can also claim the third highest peak on the list; Kala Patthar. My Island Peak climb was on the end of an Everest Base Camp trip which included Kala Patthar.
