Title: Foot Pain :(
Post by: NorthernSky on February 23, 2015
hi folks
wondering if anyone has experienced this foot pain?
it's roughly where I've circled (not my foot  ;))
I feel the pain when the foot bends upwards at the toes while walking, or if I was walking over rocks etc where you would get extra pressure

seems to have come on gradually, didn't have any impacts or the like

it's just the middle toe on the left foot

Your circle and description are very familiar to me. In my case regular and very aggressive removal of hard skin under the metatarsal joints  reduced the pain but it was eventually diagnosed (with an ultrasound scan) as a ganglion cyst between two metatarsals. The hard sin was pressing on the cyst which was then pressing on a nerve. The cure was to aspirate the cyst and have a steroid injection. That was over a year ago and I've had no recurrence though I do have to continue with the hard skin removal.
See http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/excisionofganglion/Pages/Introduction.aspx

Do not believe the bit about aspiration being painless - words fail me.

Yours may be something completely different but worth investigating.
