Date Saturday 1st Nov - Sunday 2nd Nov
Annalong Wood

Sorry for the dithering, Friday was a huge problem with trick or treating etc so I've changed this to Saturday, that way we can get down in the afternoon in daylight and get sorted.

Its hard to think of anywhere more suitable for a large group, where we can get a good fire going,  its not a hard slog for any wee one's to get to and the cars are safe to leave overnight. In saying that we're up for it no matter where it is so count me and Tom in ;D

Pretty much what I was thinking. Maybe a night round the fire in Annalong and we'll make some plans for a few more exciting overnighters.

I liked the general flow of things last year and would be up for it again this year, as already said I too cannot think of anywhere better than hotel Annalong for this due to the way things were last time. We got lucky with the weather last year but if it had been bad the forest part would of let us throw up a couple of big tarp covers etc, and having the firewood to hand just made things all round easier not to mention how it let some folks just pop by for a couple of hours if they had no desire to camp out. Can't see it working as well as that if we were all up a hillside somewhere, of course seeing the general age range last time does allow for some early setup time for some proper scares this year.  8)

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend as I will be sunning (hopefully) myself in Spain.

Maybe a drop'o mulled wine might be nice at Halloween as a bit of an autumn warmer. Wonder could we make some in a big pot and leave it hanging by the fire all evening. Then maybe a cup of hot choc before bed.

IS there any idea on numbers for this? I am tempted to but it is a long trek up for a night out and unless there is plenty of folks to chinwag with I might give it a miss.

It seems like the Friday night is a bit of a problem for NI-Wilders that like sweets and Trick or Treating, I'm thinking of moving this to Saturday night instead to suit more people.

Would Saturday suit people any better?

Good Stuff, I'm defo in then... Friday wasn't great for me.. It's my Trick or Treat night were I hit the streets and build up my sweetie supply for the coming year  ;)

I'll have the three kids with me and will probably head up about 3pm before it gets dark to set up my kit and let the kids have a bit of a mess about.

I have a rather mad party to attend Sat night so if I can make it then it'll be in the wee early hours in which case I'll do my best to scare the shit clean outta you all  ;D
Otherwise I'll try and pop up for breakfast on Sunday (in which you probably won't sleep a wink expecting something to happen during the night  ::) )

Yeah, I'm game assuming SpecimanYak is able to come early enough. Though if we're mulling wine I'll probably end up with some serious extra weight, might take 2 trips from the car  8)

We could take a wander up to Douglas Crag which isn't far from Annalong Wood.
