ClaireBear ran the Mourne Way Marathon to raise money for the Mourne Mountain Rescue Team.
You can donate to the cause here:
https://www.justgiving.com/ClairebearNI
You can read an excellent blog on the race here:

Obviously we rely on the Mourne Mountain Rescue Team to come and rescue us in the hills in an emergency, it's a worthy cause that deserves any spare change you might have so click the link and give them something, even if it's just a few pounds, every little helps!
Goes without saying, well done ClaireBear!

Great write up Claire forgive my ignorance is route signed or is it map in hand

Hay seanc, its all signposted but I would recommend carrying a map as some signposts are not always obvious, especially the turn left off the road past spelga dam. Its very well used though, lots of duke of ed groups on it in the summer months. I think there is a thread on here when spud walked it last year. Its a nice walk from spelga dam round hen mountain, nicer scenery and views.
