Title: Mournes question
Post by: BeardySi on June 04, 2014
Hi folks, I'm just wondering if anyone can give me a little info on the trail marked on the map leading down from Lamagan col to Ben Crom reservoir.

It would appear to be down a rather steep face, but I've read a few comments that it's fairly manageable. would anyone have any photos by any chance? I can't say I particularly noticed it last time I was up that way, but then I wasn't looking out for it.

I'm due to take a bunch of scouts up that direction in a few weeks and I'm trying to get a feel for how doable it would be for kids carrying overnight gear (initial thoughts are not very). Ideally I'd like to use it as a handy way to get down to the reservoir, but if it doesn't suit, I've got a couple of other routes in mind...

Am intending to get up there this weekend to scout out one or two spots before the hike but if it's particularly unsuitable I can save myself some time (and kilometers!) by discounting it ahead of time and not bothering with it at all!

Its a good track, lot of work done on it by the mourne heritage, should be grand for the scouts I'd say, but certainly worth checking out!
