Is there any shelter or grassy areas that a tent would pitch? I've only ever passed over Slieve Lamagan once going between Binnian and Cove.

From memory, Oisin has camped on the summit in a tent. Typo-on also pitched a couple of tents up there. I think the options are fairly limited though and I think shelter could not be relied on.
Pick a good night or go somewhere else is what it probably comes down to.

Here's a wee spot I found near the top that was almost flat.

and it has this big stone beside it which makes a handy picnic table :)

Last time Oisin, Rusty and I camped there, there was room for two bivvys and a tent with ease. The big stone is handy too as Liam says.
Go up via the slabs tho ;-) Coming from cove is the soft option ;-)

Yeah, was thinking just straight up from Blue Lough. Would the spot fit a few one/two man tents?

Aye without a bother.
The view in the morning too, priceless

Genius, am sure it's fairly exposed up there, map is a bit featureless.

It can get a bit fresh at times for sure
Thankfully any time there's been high winds I've been in a bivvy and the wind has just licked straight over it
