Title: decathlon tarp??

Just been given a decathlon tarp bigger and lighter than army surp one I got. Anyone got one what you make of it. Cheers

What's it made of? I didn't realize Decathlon did their own tarps.

yes its dark green pu coated polyester/canvas with poles 2,5kg without 1kg seems very strong size is 290cm x 285cm or 9,6 x 9,4
Googled it and it seems to score 9.5 out 10 with uk campers site and 9 with few others sites same as the vango one but quechua tarp ( to give proper name) square.

A few youtube clips it being used as basha in spain and europe i was woundering if anyone over hear had tried get a review...

have a wee google search tell me your thoughts please....cheers

One initial thought is that it doesn't seem to have any 'lifting' points (reinforced tabs on the face of the fabric) which may limit some of the possible configurations that could be used.

I'll admit to knowing very little about tarps but even with a couple of basic positions like an A-frame (using two poles) or a lean-to, the effect of a strong side wind could be lessened if there was a point to attach a guy-rope to.

That said it is inexpensive and represents good value.
