A wee bit of advance notice that the Banff Mountain Film Festival (http://www.banff-uk.com/index.htm) is coming to NI on Friday 9th May 2014 at 7:45pm.
The screenings will be at the Theatre at the Mill (Mossley Mill, Newtownabbey). Tickets are £12.50 (£11 Concession).
I missed this last year and really want to go this year.

Nutters!
Give me a shout when your booking tickets mate.

Just booked tickets to this. There are a fair few already sold. On the website for Theatre at the Mill (http://www.theatreatthemill.com/PEO/default.asp?interface=4&salepoint=2000&check=3&dir=norm) you can browse to see what seats are still available and which are taken.
-
That's me all booked in too, right beside Mr W :)
-
Anyone else going had better book quick, only about 40 seats left out of 400, nearly as popular as Garth Brooks ;D I know its a bit pricey for a cinema ticket, but i'm pretty sure you'll go away inspired :)

Was looking on the Banff website and it now shows a list of films (http://www.banff-uk.com/FILM-PROGRAMME-A%282525164%29.htm) against the Belfast date. What way does this work, do we see some of these? All of these?
-
I don't think they show the same films at each venue, but there was certainly at least 4 last time, or was it 6, can't remember ???
-
Not long to go now, getting a bit excited :)
here's a sneak preview of one film

At least its not in the city centre this year, with the giro thing on it might have been tricky getting in. I can find the giro route ok but can't find anything about the start times ???

Another great night of insprational films, yes there is the usual films about amazingly talented people in wingsuits, mountain bikers, climbers, canoeists and skiers, but its the ones that go off on a long adventure that really stick in my mind (I still have never wild camped for more than one night in a row!)

Yeah Liam it was a really good night, I'd say my favourite films were about the two surf dudes in Norway, (I think all surfers are called dude), and the first film about the rock climbing guy.
Il defo be interested in going again next year.

Yep I agree RB those were my favourites along with the woman from Nepal. She made me chortle!
-
Agree with the worthy mentions above. I really appreciated the sheer skill not just of the folk in the movies but also of those who filmed and directed them. Quality stuff!
And what about the water rapids in Mexico? Absolutely stunning.

Yep.. Those waters looked well lush.. And kudos to those skiers.. Their skills were immense.
