Hi folks
I noticed this on the top of commedagh recently. At first glance it looks like any other stone but it doesn't belong there. Most of the stones on the summit have sharp cut edged and although there are a few naturally formed round ones, they have a very coarse texture. This one has a polished surface indicating that it has ben in a river for a long time. I suspect that it has been carried up there for a bet which makes a change from beer kegs I suppose!

Of course it might be an alien egg!

You could paint it next Easter and roll it down the hill. "Below!!!"

It may be a dinosaur egg.... Walks around the mournes would be so much more exciting if the odd velosoraptre gave chase!
-
maybe someone popped it into a rucksack without the owner knowing ;D
-
Never mind the dinosaurs, being chased by the sheep is scary enough!

I forgot about this experience on the Brandy Pad this summer. Perhaps it has some relevance?
