they're selling various bits and pieces of outdoor clothing
including a "unisex trekking rain cape, which can also be used as a tent"
and lined wellies that would be good in a canoe.

thanks for the heads up dry bag ;D

They quite often have some excellent gear at a bargain price.

Sounds good.

anyone have any idea how good the walkies would be? I could use them for climbing would save a lot of shouting and faffing around! it says 8km range on them and we havnt climbed anything that high.....yet!

I bought a set from lidl before not the same mind but they were below
average in my opinion, i,ve now got icom and maxton pmr radios and
and even these in built up areas only have a range of around 1km but for
climbing those would do your job but check battery life!

I bought the Lidl ones last year.
They're not totally straightforward to set up, though you can use them OK straight out of the box and they are compatible with any other 8x38 pmr radios.
the volume doesn't go as loud as on my old Goodmans, but the headsets work fine.
and of course the range is nowhere near 5km in normal use. More like 200m

I wouldn't like to have to use that cape as a "tent", am I getting soft?
