Title: Hello from Newtownards
Post by: No time for anything on August 21, 2013
Hello everyone, I'm a 30 year old married man looking to expand my friends list to include people who enjoy a bit or wild camping and hiking.  Unfortunately I've got to the stage where all current friends idea of adventure is watching Bear Grylls do his thing on TV and the mention of actually packing the rucksack for the weekend outdoors sends shivers down their backs :)  My wife wouldnt consider anything less than a 4 star hotel so in desperate need of new friends who enjoy spending a night on the side of a mountain and don't mind getting a bit dirty or wet from our timid climate.

You've come to the right place, plenty of like minded (silly?) people here, up for walk up the cold hills.

Thanks Davy, I read your post when you joined there and I'm into the same things fishing (Only sea fishing though), camping, hiking and kayaking - I have a 16" Bic sit on which doesn't get enough use :)

Drop me a pm sometime if you fancy meeting up for a chat and get to know each other - Costa in Ards shopping is my favourite when the wife's spending 4 hours shopping lol.  I see you have kids as well, I have 2 but will be a few years until they can join the fun hence another reason for my wife's reluctance to get involved.

Welcome to the forum Brian. We are mostly a friendly bunch on here.
I dont bother much with camping but am regularly out hiking and now that I have the seven sevens and the Mourne Wall out of the way, they are going to be a more relaxed affair than some of the training walks I have been doing over the last 6 months. Anyone is always welcome to join me.

Phil
