Post by: seamusgi4szw on August 09, 2013
Hi, my name is Seamus and I reside in sunny Bessbrook.
I walk the Mournes most Tuesdays and have made the odd trek further afield.
I do a bit of canoeing (flat) mostly lake and canal, no suitable rivers in this area,,. too oul for the Roe or Finn in January,,, swam both ,, cold,, claim to fame, swam most of the Liffey descent..but finished,,
I have a 1985 Honda cbx550 f11 which clears the head when out futtering about..
Sailed big and wee most of my life but no boat at the minute ,,, financially broke,,,,lol

C ya in the hills,,,

Welcome! Sounds like you've got plenty going on anyway. What sort of canoe do you have?

I have a 13' wooden canoe,, had an Oldtown 156 but too heavy to get on and off the roof by myself.,,,
contemplating a kayak but need to get fitted out, never had one with footrests etc, just 40 quid pieces of plastic and they always hurt my back,,, could never get comfy ,,,,,, can't roll either, I get dis-orientated upside down and just sit there till I run out off breath,,,lol
I was a volunteer instructor at Share for about 12 years,,, best years of our lives,,, the whole family, we spent 48/49 weekends and holidays every year down in 'Skea
