Title: Wild Camping
Post by: MrBushcraftSurvival on July 12, 2013
Hi guys,
I am thinking of going up for a hike this weekend. I was wondering if anybody knew of any good wild camping spots around the Meelmore area.

 Thanks,
    MrBushcraftSurvival ;D

Yes plenty in that area, would need to know you range though, of course in this heat you'll probably be going less farther than usual.

here's a nice spot near Meelmore Lodge, also a few good spots by the Trassey River.

a bit farther away is the Hares Gap or the top of the Ben Crom Reservoir, personally i'd go for the top of Slieve Bearnagh, less chance of midges, but no nearby water.  Spinkwee River is also with reach (do a forum search and you'll find lots of info on that spot).
