Nice one mate and fair play for having a go on your own. I haven't camped alone personally but it's something I will get round to, as long as someone comes with me... LOL

It's always good to see members out and about. I've recently developed a love of hammocking (I did my first real Hammock overnight on Wednesday (http://www.ni-wild.co.uk/forum/gear-questions-information-reviews-and-competitions/tw-hammocks-product-testreview/msg46382/#msg46382)) and your set-up looks excellent. You seem to be well experienced setting up a hammock and tarp.
My set-up was a bit poor, being my first attempt. My trees were not far enough apart so my tarp sagged. I also found storm rings in my hammock kit but hadn't a clue what they were for and just left them in the stuff sack :-[ Fortunately the torrential rain didn't work its way into my sleeping bag so I escaped a drenching purely by luck.
Your bow saw is nothing short of pure genius... I've never seen that done before but I will be stealing that idea. Carrying a bow saw blade and lashing it to a suitable branch on location is such a brilliant weight saving tip!!!
I'm hoping to arrange a camp dedicated to hammocking soon so hopefully you will be able to join us and pass on your knowledge.

There seems to be a fair few hammockers out there now. Not something I've tried but it looks like a fun set-up. Nice one Piczo, and a good review by Dowser on that other thread.
A quick question that always springs to my mind though when i see a hammock set-up. Don't you ever wake up and feel the urge to roll over on to your side (which can't be comfortable)? I can just imagine myself lying on my back which I could move position.

Cheers people .. I am a side sleeper cant get comfy on my back although i always seem to waken on it .. >:( im just a learner myself when it comes to hammock hanging though i do enjoy it and yes a hammock overnight would be good id gladly come along .. once you get over the fear off you thinking you will fall out which is almost impossible its all good im sure dowser had a great nights sleep the only real issue i have now is the under blanket wont stay in place looking for ideas to solve this issue .. Dowser the storm rings would go somewhere of your choice between the tree and hammock to stop water running down into your hammock the water drips off the rings if thats the best way to put it ... The knot below will keep your tarp taut some off the climbers on here will know it well mark ..
