Hi there,
Just a quick note to say hi, stumbled across this forum/site looking for info on wild camping in NI and had to register, I've been looking for something locally based like this for a while.
So some introductions:
Grew up spending a lot of time in the Mournes, did lots of walking in school holidays as well as during term time, the school were very good about incorporating outdoor activities through the old RUC Public Relations branch programmes. Taught us all about maps, navigation and how quickly the weather could change in the Mournes.
Spent less time there as I grew up, got married etc., but now with small children I want to get out there again and let them have the same experiences as I had if they want to. Some of the wild camping spots certainly look like a good start, so I'll have to investigate them further!
Anyway, I guess I'll talk to you all at some stage or another.
