Hi everyone.
I'm Mark (28) from near Comber Co.Down. Excited to find such a community - very cool.
I've recently returned home from living in London so I've been really appreciating what an amazing country we live in and so glad to be back.
I love surfing, camping/bushcraft, hiking, and canoing. I like a good challenge, taking long journeys and exploring nature.
I look forward to learning loads from this community.

Hi Mark, I'm not far from Comber. Is there much to do out your way - I only ever see Comber on my way to Killyleagh.
You're member number 101 by the way! I think that means you owe us all a drink :D
-
101 members..................sounds painful ;D
-
No pain no gain :D

rather you than me wolf ;D

Thanks.
Haha :D, I reckon it should be member 100 who gets the privilege of drink buying, its a rounder number :)
Ah I'm between Comber and Killyleagh, out in the sticks. There's not a huge amount to do in Comber, I rode the Comber Cycleway to Belfast and back which was really good and some quality countryside surrounding it. It's also close to the Lough which is the main thing.

Welcome to the community Marko,

Welcome to the forums Mark!
Not a bad wee dander is from just outside comber, IslandHill car park up to scrabo tower, you are on road's for nearly the entire way but they are all minor and traffic is usually very light. It is also quite a climb as you're starting by the lough and climbing all the 540 feet to the bottom of the tower, if that wasn't enough there is around 120 steps to the roof of the tower, which I would heartily reccomend if its open and its a clear day for some well deserved views. The dander back down isn't too bad either as you have the view of strangord on the way down.

Thats an interesting one. Think I'll give it a go one of these days instead of Cave Hill.

hi mate welcome to forum

Hi and welcome mate
-
Cheers,
That sounds good, I will give that walk a go. I've climbed Scrabo, but not from Islandhill. I was at the Newtownards allotment open day last Saturday. I noticed there's a walk along the top of the floodwall along the coast of the lough. Although I can't find anything on this trail online. Will maybe give it a go and let you know if its worthwhile.
