THIS MONTHS THEME IS "Brubaker (Food and Drink)"
Last months Winner Twentyclicks has selected this months Theme "Brubaker (Food and Drink)".
Considering this is the time of year when folk are most likely to eat and drink (http://www.drinkaware.co.uk/) to excess AND your gonna be off work, not knowing what to do with yourselves, go grab your camera, charge the battery and get thinking of a subject for your winning entry.
Please email your entry for the Monthly Photo Competition to here:
[email protected]Please do not post in this thread until the photographs have been displayed, then the chat can begin.
For fairness, submitted entries will not be displayed until after the closing date.
All entries need to be submitted by Midnight on New Years Eve (31st December) and will be displayed here shortly after.
If the Turkey Hat, that I am modelling in my Avatar survives my
Work Party, The Christmas Camp, Christmas Day and a Christmas BBQ
then it will be offered as the Grand Prize for this months winner.
If it goes walkies I'll think of something else
:D
The Monthly Photo Competition is open to NI-Wild Members only. Please remember to include your NI Wild Username when submitting your entry.P.S. Your entries do
not have to be taken in the current month of the competition. If you have an awesome shot lurking in your back catalogued, on a long forgotten hard drive, then email it in and try and grab some votes.
No specialist equipment is required to enter this Photo comp and remember you're the photographer, so your interpretation will be respected.

That's not a bad idea. I'll see what I can organise.

I had one planned for this and completely forgot about it. :(

(Dowser)
This month winner of the NI-Wild Monthly Photo Competition
Thank you to everybody that voted for my entry... I don't think I've won the comp for well over a year :(
The rats in Entry 4 got my vote as it was just so different and I loved the way one of the beasties is looking right at the camera. I do hope you've got the infestation sorted for the New Year ;)
If it hadn't been for the rats I would definitely have voted for Entry 5 with the butchers shop. I really liked that photo and was totally amazed it didn't get a vote. Maybe we have more vegetarians here on NI Wild than thought!!!
Photographers for this months "Brubaker" shots were:

Entry 2 - Spud
Entry 3 - Dowser
Entry 4 - BigQ
Entry 5 - Wrh51

Well done Dowser. Did you cook the lobster on the fire, or bring with you?
I found it very hard to choose, especially between #1 and #6, as they both look like a perfect cosy winter evening with nice food and drink. Eventually voted for #6.
The rats are keeping well; they enjoyed their mini Christmas dinner, and they seemed to prefer the prawn cocktail, buttered wheaten and the brussel sprout. If youre ever wondering what to use as trap bait, now you know!
Well done Dowser!
I voted for the careful execution of No 6 - very clever set up, and all encompassing effort 8)
Mine was a pre-GR20 meal prep before Mike and I set off...
3euro bottle of wine, can of tinned beef, can of ham, 4 cheese triangles, half jar of pesto and 500g pasta.... yup, that'll fill a man up for the gnarliest trek in europe! We used the rest of the pesto to butter a baguette for the next day, and hard boiled 12 eggs for a few breakfasts. Didn't die ;D

I'm ashamed to admit that it was bought pre-cooked... Just needed warmed through with a bit of Garlic Butter at camp to become our starter, before getting stuck into the leg of lamb swinging in the background. The leg of lamb was cooked from fresh by the fire ;)
A lobster cooked by the fire would be one of the easiest meals to do... the hard part would be getting your hands on a fresh one and carrying it up alive. It could get a bit nippy and I'm not talking about the weather :o

I thought you'd like that one Craig, did you spot the Robert Redford on the TV ;D
Good photos all. Enjoyed looking at all the grub.
My vote went for BigQ, if your mad enough to giveaway good food like that to animals then you atleast deserve a vote.
You sure you didn't pay a couple of people to vote for you Dowser, just so you didn't have to part with your beloved hat? :D

Oh yes, you had every detail. Very well thought out!
I couldn't get the light quite right though, it was a bit of a rushed attempt minutes from the deadline while under the influence ::) fail to prepare, prepare to fail ;D

Lol... I really wasn't looking forward to parting with it but, it was all washed and fluffed up again just in case it had to be dispatched to a new owner. Instead, it will be going back into my stupid hat collection until next year ;D
so mr mad hatter, whats our photograhic mission this month

I tried to get a photo together but it didn't come off. I tried to take a photo of my sloe gin that is currently brewing or fermenting or whatever it is doing with a torch behind to back light it, but it just looked wick, the Robinson's label spoilt it ;D.
Well done the others.
