Another shop closing in Belfast. Sad to see it go they where always a nice bunch in there.
-
Yes sad to see. It was a proper gear shop with staff who 'did it' not just sold it.
-
That really is a shame. I alwas enjoyed shopping in Tiso's and they always did well in the local comuinnty.
-
They were good supporters of the Mountain Rescue teams too, sad to see them go. I only ever got to visit the shop once myself, just too easy to buy online these days and too difficult to get into the city centre :( even with 25% off i won't be making the special journey into town. Will try and pop in before Christmas and say goodbye though.

Another victim of the ressession, online buying and stiff competition from Blacks and Cotswold ....
-
Stopped by today to say hello. Didn't get anything - it was being rightly picked through.
They do have quite a bit of high-end gear to sell through, but the choice is diminishing fast.
Although doing better than last year (what I'd thought) the rent has gone up silly money with Victoria Sq round the corner. With the building beside it being empty for a few years, I could see Dunnes (or something) take over the whole lot. Good old city council, pushing out individuals from the high-street so only big national brands can afford to be there. Welcome to any other shopping area in the UK. High-street mono-culture.

The sale started Thursday. If you have a discount card or buy one for £20 you can get a further 10% on top of the 25% discount.

Its because blacks closed down that Tiso's Belfast had such a bad year. Well thats what the Tiso manager told me on Friday
-
I think you are right. Black are closed but I did look up their website and it seems to be live.

Can anyone throw any light on that?
-
Blacks are still trading as will Tiso just not in Belfast.
-
Blacks Leisure are dead. Long live Blacks Outdoor Retail Ltd.!!
Is there still a shop in Belfast?
-
Not in Belfast no.
