Ive saved some money mate and want a tent ill not change for years and years, also i would love to test it out in real bad weather. That would be a buzz. When i get it, i can say to the GF i spent near £400 on a tent so i HAVE TO USE IT.  ;)

I also had a broucher and it had hilleberg tent material on it, i could not rip at all mate.

I think im in love also.............. ::)

Wow, that's a seriously amazing tent for the cash, there's one going on the german ebay site (use Google translate for english), used but apparently like new, £170 at the moment with 3 days to go and £10 p&p if you're interested, may save a bit of cash for extra goodies:

When you tell her how much you spent, you'll be living in it.   "...and close that door on your way out!"  :P

The Akto does seem to be one of the best-rated solo tents for standing up to the elements.

Hi wolf   I've had an akto for 5 years now
they're not cheap but well worth the money
I've had mine in quite high winds and rain
in wales  also very quick to put up. I got mine
online from the climbers shop and it came
with a free ground sheet protector !

This is a get reveiw on the Hilleberg Akto, in all the reviews i read people also say about the head room and condensation with this tent, the guy that done this review modifed it in some way. I can live with no head room but does all tents not get condensation ??

Regards wolf

Do i need to get the footprint ?? and what does it do. If i need to get it need to find it cheap for cotsworld to price match.

cheapest ive seen tent for is £345 and i have yet to look for footprint. I will be going in to get in on tuesday all being well.

Thanks NIWILDERS

I dont need extra weight, so ill pass on the footprint and near £100 for it im not ot keen on. I have been wreking brains looking for a one man ten that is perfect but seems the all have some sort of down side so ill just go for the Hilleberg Akto cotsworld price match so ill get it for £345 then my 10% off so i should get it for just over £300 which is not to bad. Ill be going intoBelfast tomoro to get it but im sure they may have to order it in, so might not get it tomoro and have to wait a phew days.

Thanks wold AKA Dave

I phoned cotsworld just there now, they will match the £345 but want the £10 delivery charge, Ill try talk them out of the delivery charge. I never thought of asking about the 10% off, but i love changing my arm. Thats what the guy also say Spud he has one pitched on the top floor and he also has one in the bag, two all together mate. I had to cover for the brother doing his window job today so did not get in. Im definatley going into cots tommorow after a go to the credit union. Im very happy to get the tent for hopefully a nice price ;-)

Thanks for all the info and help lads

Hi  I am new to this site   I'm just wondering
if these summit camps are held in summer
months only or do they go on through the winter ??

Generally I would say summit camps do happen more during the summer months, with larger groups attending, although summit camping does go on during the winter, most chose for safer option of pitching their tent in a sheltered Col

That tent's debut deserves to be on a summit when it is blowing a gale and you haven't the faintest idea what bits go where  8)
