After much letter writing, meetings and wading through mountains of red tape, the NIBA are now the resident Bushcrafters at Carnfunnock country park in Larne. We have a few formalities to complete and then its all systems go! Throughout the rest of this year and next year we will be running one day courses as part of Carnfunnocks events and we will also be planning some meet ups of our own. Anyone interested should contact us via email at niba @fsmail.net also check out our website which will have periodic updates ref. meet ups etc www.bushcraftni.com I would like to say a big thank you to the members of the NIBA for all their hard work and commitment. Our first event is as part of the "Autumn Fest" being held at the park on Saturday the 26th of September. we will have a stall showing various bushcraft related crafts, there will be a "Woodland Awareness" challenge for younger bushcrafters and we will even be hosting the "Carnfunnock Conker Championships". It should be a great day out. Further details are available from Carnfunnock Country park at www.larne.gov.uk/carnfunnock.html

folks if anyone is interested in meets, can you forward your details incliuding a bit about yourself and your bushcraft experience to our email address, niba@fsmail.net. I can then compile a list of names and email addresses when we start getting meets organised.
Cheers Paul
( Jonno i hope you dont mind me doing this on your site mate we got seriously repremanded by Toddy one of the Mods on bcuk even though our sole intention is to promote bushcraft in NI!)
Thanks again mate

All good by me as long as you continue to organise stuff and promote yourselves through ni-wild. Wouldn't like it if an organisation came, used the site to gather support and then headed off to chat elsewhere.

I left BCUK many years ago after being bullied (I dont use the word lightly) by one moderator in particular. Seems to be run as a business these days rather than a community, shame.

i hope to be there, as long as the weathers good and the grounds solid, so i can walk with this dam moon boot..
-
Moon boot ?
-
its an aircast walkboot, looks like a big ski boot, replaces normal plaster cast after 4weeks, helps in the healing process after achilles tendon rupture. better than crutches but still a pain..
-
Dam, how did you manage that ?
-
had a fall climbing nuclear wheelbarrow, at pigeon rock in the mourns, hit a ledge on the way down before the rope took up the slack..
-
OMG that sounds scarey, did you do alot of climbing before the fall ?
