we had walked around that way one sunday because st johns IS so picturesque, the ground around there is not great. looks good from a distance, but not good at close inspection, very boggy on the far side of the lighthouse too. happy hunting

I have been having a look at the maps for this one again,

http://www.walkni.com/d/walks/0/Lecale_Way_Overview_Map.pdf

looks like st johns point isnt really the half way point, think it maybe would be closer to ballyhornan direction? Any of the map whizzkids on here shed any light on this?
I think I'd rather walk further on the first day anyway, and have most of it done, so there isnt as much to do the second day!
