A mate of mine was telling me recently about his experiences in Scotland – they’ve got the super midge over there it seems. Maybe we don’t get it so bad!

I remember wandering about in the forests of Scotland and we were attacked by a weird flying beastie that seemed to bury its head in your flesh and leave it there.

That Russian bloke has it sussed. Essential kit.  ;D

Last year I encountered them in November high in the mournes. I didnt expect to see them at that time of year so presumably it takes quite cold weather to suppress them.

I was up snifflyslat today and thought it strange that there were midges... An hour ago my neck developed small lumps (bites) :( God they love me even this time of the year :( Vitb it is again.....
