were any members at last nights meeting to debate the new national park, many for it and many against it, what are the pros and cons for ni wild members. also in yesterdays paper renewed talk of cable cars from donard park to lower slopes in mournes. any views on this(not scenic views lol)

I haven't read up that much on it. The other half's relatives are all farmers in areas that would most likely be affected by it. They all seem against it though whether that's just against change in general or if they have specific reasons I don't know. I must find out.
As for cable cars... Why? There are plenty of easy routes up into and around the Mournes and roads through to provide great views that I don't see why they would be needed. People like gettting out into the wild away from it all. Leave it that way.

Would it be worthwhile for admin to sprinkle some fairy dust and make it all into one. This topic will run and run. Perhaps it could justify being a sticky topic?

We can merge threads bu they tend to get very confusing. If no-one minds we'll start an official NI-Wild Mourne National Park thread that everyone can contribute to.
It is here:
