Title: Decent Boots?
Post by: Shan Doan on August 15, 2012
Sorry if this has been asked before.

My old boots reached the end of the trail last week, so I was wondering if any oul hands here had advice for my new pair. I don't know a lot about these things. I'd just need them for tramping about in the mountains so, a decent make and reasonably waterproof. Obviously!

I've had those old boots for longer than I can remember. I put them in the Trassey Road car park bin without thinking about what make they were!

I'd rather try new boots on in a shop somewhere.

Thanks for any advice you can offer. Really appreciated.

I wear solomans GTX's like some others on here. They are a great boot if you want a fabric boot with gore-tex

I've been impressed with my Brasher Hillwalker GTX boots though they've not done as many miles as they should have :(

Sports Direct do some really good makes at low prices: I'd definately go with Brasher or one of the more reputable brands. I got a pair of Brasher Lithium GTX months ago and they're the business.

Those brands look the business.

I've been nosing around the Net for reviews, prices and my 1/2 size. The Altai GTX Brashers look good too. Decisions decisions!

Thanks for taking the time to help out.

Do all that ^^^ But go in and try them on. The fitting service is good and your under no obligation to buy ( cotswold's do a price match so bring the web address if you have found them cheaper ;) )

And in case you are wondering TypoOn dont work for Cotswold lol :D
