Are all summits suitable for at least one tent or are there some more suited for a bivvy only?
-
A lot depends on the wind, most summits have good spots but if the wind is in the wrong direction then it can turn a good spot into a bad one, the wall helps but not when wind is going on direction of wall (happened to me on commedagh and had to pitch in the crater) Lamagan has no wall and its hard to find a good spot so good weather only, Meelmore has VERY thin soil at the top, and Donard usually has a fair bit of glass to avoid :( its worth doing a daylight reccee of the summit and marking a spot if you intend to arrive after dark as it can save a lot of hunting only to find next moring there was a better spot 10 meteres away :)

A lot depends on the wind,
