Title: Introducing Myself
Post by: David Hoy on July 03, 2012
Hello all, just before we started to think seriously about making a se mi permanent camp in the woods near a famous north coast mountain Had a quick google to see if anyone else had the same idea... and lo a behold according to this website there are enough temporary inhabitants of Bineveangh at anyone time it would justify it's own postcode!

Personally I like nothing more than swinging in my hammock drinking fresh brewed coffee staring at trees/streams/mountains.

Have recently found the whole ultra light movement, and badly want to do some proper lengthy trails, need to get legs & lungs into better shape first!

On here to see other good spots, find cheap gear (mad fer the second hand bargains me!) and explore this outdoor culture i didnay know we had here!

Keep well, keep safe, keep er tidy n keep er country!

Heya, thanks for the welcome! Am talking about the forestry lands around Binevenagh Mt, they are riddled with Waymarked trails, mountain bike scars & wildlife.

They tend to be quite busy, and very midgey this time of year.

There is an awesome walk around the teeth of the mountain, found this NI Wild post: http://www.ni-wild.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1820.0

If ya hunt the finned things, there's a stocked (git yer license!) Trout lake at the top of the mountain.

I've heard of it being used as training for expeditons by serious folk due to it's steepness - your best boots!

That said car access is brilliant, 5 mins from laybays, car parks etc and your on the mountain.

It is heavily used by campers of all variety's, expect to see soundsystems at the car park at the top during peak weekends, tents on the mountain face & well built bushcraft shelters in the woods.
