Hello I'm Gareth long time reader first time poster.
Im a Leader in a Local Boys' Brigade and most of my outdoor work is chasing after duke of ed groups round the mournes with the odd cycle or canoe trip thrown in for good measure.
I am keen on developing some bush craft skills this coming season, and have just started GeoCaching (something to occupy myself while waiting for groups to arrive at check points really).
I must admit I am a Gear Junkie and signing up for this site is probably not a good idea for my wallet!!

you're right, joining this forum is really bad for the wallet, but good in every other way.
By the way, I can't make the canoe trip on the 17th (I'll be stuck in yet another airport), but I should be able to do the 24th.

Hi Gareth, welcome to the forum. I can only imagine the coaxing needing done to keep the lads moving. I'm a leader in the BB also, and some of our boys would be a long way off being ready for something like that.

welcome to the forum, i remember one weekender taking a bunch of younglings through the mournes, it near killed them, but i was amazed at how many times they believed me when i said the campsite was just round the next corner ;D
