got these a few months back, as with most things i get i go a bit ott ;D used the once only for a few miles walking, tbh i found them very stiff, they really are more suited to mountain work not walking! they look the muts (partly why i bought them) they are as new, fully gore tex too 8)
size 8.5

hmmmm tempting, do they take crampons? i'm off to scotland soon for some snow climbing :)

yep they do 8) not to sure exactly what type but all descriptions state crampon compatible! have to say the soles are very stiff!

They don't have a heel welt so will be limited to strap-on C1 crampons - fine for winter walking & glaciers but not secure enough for climbing.
I'm sure the sole is very stiff though, and has that large smear-patch so would be great for scrambling or via-ferrata.
