I'm sure most people are aware of it, but just in case - the weekend of 24th/25th March is Northern Ireland Adventureland weekend. Lots of activities on at a massively reduced price all around the country.

Yeah, I had seen that, definitely on my to do list for the weekend. Was just thinking of having a completely adventurous Sunday. Maybe some sailing in the morning, climbing in the afternoon and mountain biking by moonlight to finish the day off! Might book the same climbing session, it'd be good to meet.

Good to know that there will be other people there. Having gotten back into climbing last night, I realised that I may need a group of people to carry me home after a few hours outdoors!!

I'll not be making that mistake again! Though, thankfully enough, no lasting aches and pains today. I even went out at lunch time and bought a tennis ball to squeeze! While everything else had reached the point of near exhaustion last night, it was the fingers that were the first to give up completely.
Good to meet you too!

Anyone see the summiting everest event?
"n 2009 intrepid local adventurers, Lynne and Noel Hanna achieved the record of being the first married couple to reach the summit of Everest. As part of their training Noel and Lynne achieved the Guiness Book of Records for climbing Slieve Donard 10 times non stop in less than 30 hours.
Come along to The OUTLET at Banbridge on Saturday 24th March at 2pm to hear more about their adventures on Everest; Noel's record breaking "Seven Summits to Sea Level" Challenge and other adventures to Aconcagua in Argentina, Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mt Blanc in France and Mt Elbrus in Russia.
Noel and Lynne plan to return to Everest North Side in 2012 and are currently relocating to South Africa so this will be the last opportunity to see them in Northern Ireland for a while.
This amazing couple have kindly agreed to speak at this event as a fundraising event for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Northern Ireland."
Walk up Donard TEN TIMES!
Mental!
I could probably do it twice with extreme difficulty if I gritted my teeth and ploughed on - 10 tho? No way lol
-
I was thinking of doing that Donard 10 timer walk as a fundraiser later in the year, i didn't know there was a record to beat, i was thinking of aiming for 48hrs though :( I'd be keen to go to that talk, i'll post it up as a separate thread.
edit:
in case uou think i'm some superfit human capable of doing this (that would actually be 20clicks) my plan was to see how many i could do in 48hrs 8)
