John you just cost me the price of a new pair of Scarpa, gaiters and some half price Bridgedales lol. Took them out for a test walk on trostan today. Could do with a little breaking in I think. Not to self...just because its on sale doesnt mean you need it.

My mate got the last hooded one. Pretty good price and a nice feeling jacket. Though water proof zips on a slightly water resistant jacket.....

They are really light for a pair of leather boots.

Some people say i've a brass neck, some say i'am just a wee bit cheeky( no fat jokes) :'( but i did the rounds today of all the major outdoor shops in Belfast as i'am looking to invest in a real quality pair of boots.Called to the scout shop first, must say their customer service skills are lacking badly, keeping me waiting while they discussed their night out, straight out the door, anyway onto Jackson sport's ,which has quite a good range for such a small shop,Cotswolds next ,again nothing really i could get away with sneaking into the house, last call was with Tiso, well impressed, was approached by a plain clothes chap who turned out to be the store manager, very friendly easy going guy, brought me round the whole range discussing pro's & con's of each boot, told me about all the different promotions & was more than happy for me to take photo's of some of their footwear, customer service 10/10 ;D

 some of there range

Tiso do seem to be friendly. Grace had first hand experience of this when she was picking up my snugpack jacket. She described it as being chatted up in an awkward manner. The man showed her the jackets and personally tried on all the sizes infront of her and all, and told her to call the store and ask for him personally if she had any problems. He gave her the wrong size (medium recieved after asking for large) in the end, so I'll/she'll have to call back up. Not sure if that was a tactic or not  :D

The fabric itself is fully waterproof, just the seams are not taped. It's like a cheap Polartec Powershield... very decent price for a '90% of the time' jacket, and good mountain colour!
