for our summers you'd nearly need a winter bag  ;D

so what sort of budget are you on? and is weight important?

I was in blacks in Belfast last week they had a lot of good quality sleeping bags on sale,as Liam already pointed out spring, summer bags don't really cut it here, you'd be wiser spending a wee bit more on something warmer

Wolf, do you mean the walk in March?  The Moyle Way is in the Antrim Hills.

Wolf IMHO that sleeping bag would do ok spring/summer if you used a liner, silk liners are super light and add nearly half a season to your bag. Plus if you wanted you can get a heavier fleece liner which helps even more. Much cheaper than getting a lower rated bag if you like the one you have. If its for the Moyle way walk I look forward to meeting you. I'm a kit junkie and can talk for hours about it.

Can anyone tell me tonight's winning lottery numbers?

looks like a decent bag wolf, but remember that  minus 12 rating is on a "will keep you alive, just " basis, if you are in the mournes at that temperature in that bag you may well be tempted to get up and walk home, you ceratinley wouldn't sleep much  :o  but we don't get those extreems too much and we camp in them even less  ;D

no your bag is fine, just get yourself a liner, a pair of long johns and a thermal vest for those realy cold nights, if its really bad just sleep in all your clothes. test your bag out first and see how it performs, some people just seem to have a knack of getting a good nights sleep in any old bag (dowser) whereas i never sleep well in a tent no matter what bag i use

The army ones tend to be heavy. So even if its nice and warm it will take up most of your pack and if you are going any distance you will wish you left it behind.
Couple of possible bags for a decent price...

interesting that that snugpack bag, has the same extreme limit (-12) as wolfs bag, but they have totally different comfort limits (+3 and -7)  ???  they really need to standaridize the ratings so we can compare properly

but here's a wee bag that won't break the bank at only a tenner, says tog 6.7 which i think equates to about 3deg comfort limit, not too heavy at 1.35kg
