Have you any climbing experience ::),there are places you can go & observe climbing but if you're a novice i would not recommend you try climbing without the guidance & knowledge of a more experienced climber, there are plenty of places were you can go & have a go climbing with instructors, like the Y.M.C.A or LIFE or most outdoor pursuits centre's around the country, stay safe!

If you can get hold of the film "Underdeveloped" you will see lots of mad climbing around the North from the Mournes, Antrim, Fairhead, Donegal... Ricky Bell and his mates made the film, he's one of our top climbers.
As for going and doing it... what the others said.

Yeh in doors first!!!
It is best to start climbing the balustrades around the stairs. When you have that mastered that, try climbing in through the trap door and swing on the rafters. When your up there I will throw you up the christmas tree.
Only joking, I can just about manage abseiling out the kitchen window.
