seen this and not sure what to think. it sounds safe enough but the child aint strapped in from the photo i seen

I think its more odd that the mother is wearing a helmet and the child isnt? she is using a sling to carry the child...  never used one myself but i believe they are a very safe way of transporting younger children. saying that the only ppl ive seen using them have been on  foot  ;)

Fair play to her! I dont think i would be that... mmmm.... brave :)

If children can take instruction though, they can start to climb (with an instructor) as young as 3... start e'm young eh!

I think its madness.Climbing is a risky game. Things can go wrong to even the most experienced climber.

Totally agree...

This is just complete insanity.  I can't believe the BBC are viewing this so kindly.  If the mother was to fall backwards the kid would be crushed against the rock face, if it even stayed in the sling and didn't fall 30ft to it's death.  No helmet, bare arms, legs and feet  ???

I could understand a three year old being taught climbing as a hobby when supervised, fully equipped and secured with safety ropes.  What child doesn't like climbing but, the risks here far outweigh any enjoyment or reward that this child could possibly be obtaining  ???

What next Bungee Jumping with your baby!!!

I think what she did is ok, just looks bad in the pics, i'm sure she was very very careful. But maybe she shouldn't have worn the lhelmet, probably hit the baby on the face with it when she put her head back for the pic  :o  to put it in comparison, how often do we drive a car with our kids at 60mph, with a car coming the other direction at 60mph with only a few feet of air between to stop a head on collision, thats were the real risks in life are, but we all take driving like this for granted  ???  assuming she had a very good person on the other end of the rope any mistake she made should only have resulted in a few cms of fall
