Title: Easter Camp 31st March 2012

Me and my Brother is organising a Easter Camp 31st March 2012 on a saturday, Family Friendly, Easter Celebration around the campfire and everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
Bring an easter egg if you like.

We could do a egg hunt.

Had Wayfayers chicken tikka for lunch and it was really good, then bacon and beans for breakfast also really good. Heavy but great food.

I will be hiding small plastic eggs, each egg will have foil wrapped mini eggs inside it and also will be a small paper saying what kind of prize you have won.

1st prize: Giant Easter Egg
2nd prize: Large Easter Egg
3rd prize: Large Easter Egg
4th prize: Medium Easter Egg
5th prize: Medium Easter Egg
6th prize: Medium Easter Egg

no problem.

me and my bro will be up there very early I mean about 10am to 11am, because we will be putting up are tents and then hiding the eggs, then lighting the fire.

so I probley can't meet you at the carpark, but im sure other people could.
if you ask one of the other people that are coming to it, ask them what time they will be heading and maybe then they can show you up.
Most people show up between 2pm and 5 pm on the last camp

It pretty much easy to get too. just keep going up donard forest, there is 3 bridges along the way up, you will cross 2 bridges but when you come to the third bridge don't cross it just go str8 on beside it until you get to a gate. (you will see the ice house from there) before you pass the gate you just turn right into the forest itself and then you should see us. (this is if you take the small trail up.)

but as you have infants with you maybe you should take the bigger path up.

and if I bring my son I will have to carry extra stuff for him, like his sleeping bag and his sleeping mat. so you know thats why I will bring mini eggs.

Why don't you just bring lots of small tokens that people try to find instead of actual Easter eggs? That way you go out and hide tokens and then depending on how many people find they get awarded an egg?

Example, colour some lollipop sticks bright colours, or bits of red ribbon, and hide them around the place, instead of the eggs, then people redeem the tokens for eggs after its over? Would that not reduce the amount you would have to carry up with you?

the plastic eggs will fit in my rucksack along with the foil mini eggs that will go in them.

I do have the time off - switching my ISP and alas can't work.

But do not have my new gear just yet - I doubt my PHD bag will arrive quick enough and/or my Vango 250 will keep the warmth in (definitely didn't at Meelmore August the year before last).

Post by: Matthew on March 27, 2012: To my mind, it is sensible to go individual then you are guaranteed of a feed when you want it. I do like the idea of a group meal and this was fine at Christmas but looking at the potential number of people we would not manage to feed everyone with the little amount food people are bringing up to share. Dishing out meals at Christmas was not the smoothest even though we were well organised and there is the financial incentive aspect too, inevitably, the minority is hit with the big costs.

yes the doctor has confirmed a 5PM kick off for the egg hunt, also he mentioned there's a lot of rubbish up there so if people could maybe bring an extra rubbish bag we could have a spring clean :) if i can get the car up there i could bring all the rubbish down

I think the fire brigade might have turned a blind eye as we had our fire under control and secure inside the rocks. But there was 3 young polish teens camping a few yards from us with a unsafe fire and no water. So they could not tell one group to put the fire out and not ours, Also I understand the extra caution they taking due to the Lastest forest fire, Thanks to some arseholes. If I caught the losers that started that fire, I would serve them the only justice they understand. They ruin it for everyone else.

Plus - it was good to properly try out my new gear for once.
