Title: Food
Post by: Typo-On on January 18, 2012
How do you like to reheat food, not for camping Im talking about takeaway etc and pot noodle fresh.

I've had a couple of revelations in work regarding how I did stuff, at first I thought 'come on it could be that much better' But it is....

Next day Pizza:

I used to always just bung it in the micro, I put up with the soggy base for the convenience of 20 sec pizza.

Occasionally I would put it in the Oven but this all to easily made it too crispy :(

The solution:

A george foreman grill! Stick it on a george for a couple of minutes and its better than the day before!!

Pot Noodle:

I would have bunged the water in and went for it as soon as the noodles stopped being crunchy as Im pretty impatient.

The solution:

Have patience, wait and then when you think you've waited enough wait some more. Im talking maybe 10 minutes. Your noodle will not only still be hot but it will be perfect! You have to be anal about taking the foil lid off ensuring it doesnt tear so you can fold it back over to keep the heat in.

Obviously I indulged in two for one tuesday last night and just had my 'georged' pizza for breakfast  ;D ;D

Cold pizza is for winners. I love cold pizza since I got it at birthday partys when I was a kid. So when I order a pizza I always leave a slice for the morning.

Pot Noodles is one of the few convenience foods that I just can't take. They're awesome at the time but the after taste is rotten. One of my fave foods is rice from the Chinese reheated in the micro for just a shade too long - IO can't put my finger on why but it;s awesome. I've been known to get a special fried rice and save it for breakfast. Yum!

Those 3 little words I love to hear, "two for tuesday"  ;D

A good hot grill does the job for reheating pizza too, if you dont have a "george"!! now I want pizza, and have to make do with tuna sandwiches!!    :( lol

Pastry is better reheated in the oven for a few minutes, than the micro.

Never ever put a donut in the fridge.

Spongy things that have gone a bit stale can be temporarily rescued by microwaving. It's a one-time deal though, you have to eat it immediately. Splashing a bit of water and covering can also help moisten them up.

I would have always reheated pizza a few mins in the oven, but might try the grill next time. Don't really mind the extra bite though.

Does anyone every pay full price for pizza? If I can't get a coupon from somewhere for discount I get takeaway from somewhere else. Pizza prices are shocking!

Im with you there red, normally go for a deal or go elsewhere!  Although trying to avoid takeaways altogether at the minute to try and lose some weight, but pizza is my achilles heel!! It doesnt help when the local pizza place texts you to tell you about the special offers though! too tempting!! lol  ;D

I have to say that the only thing I would tend to re-heat the next day is STEW.

Always better the next day
