A simple question i'd like to ask everyone...What is the oldest bit of kit everyone has and still uses?
I myself use an old map of the mournes which my dad used and no doubt is well over 15 years old, but still works perfectly :)
what you all got

Nice one, and good question. I was using my dad's mourne map but it eventually ripped apart and was mostly worn away at that point anyway.
Still using his Suunto compass which I guess is from the 80's but will see if I can investigate.
Oldest things that I have purchased for the outdoors would be my Raichle boots and my adventure toothbrush, dating back to 2006, Olympus camera from the 90s and Nikon camera from the 80s (one of the lenses is 77).

I've an old Karrimor rucksack, had it since 1987 but cant remember exact model. Its about 30L with detachable side pouches and a removable semi-rigid foam insert which acts as a back support and seat. Still in usuable condition.
A favourite item is a cotton type headover which again I've has since around 1987, fantastic piece of equipment.
Finally, I've an old Mourne Activity map, the one with Lough Shannagh? on the front.

Buffalo pertex jacket (minus the hood and face guard that are long gone :'()
I'v had it since I was about 15 (17 years ago!)
Still fits (bit snug though)
Testimony to both the quality of the garment and my lack of growth.
Think it was bout £75 at the time and was by far my most expensive piece of kit.
Think it has saved my life at least twice (bit of an exaggeration but you get the idea)

To be honest its gone completely blank from my head, but i think it could be that one! I have just been informed though its mid 90's. 'Dont make 'em like they used too' is all im hearing

For me, I think it's my Down Jacket...
Got it for my 18th Birthday - That makes it 17yrs old...
Washed several times, and had the zip replaced by TNF once, other than that it's still going very strong...

My old army 58 pattern water bottle dating from 1976. Pretty much indestructable and still going strong

I use ma body!!! Greatest piece of kit you will ever own.
40 odd years old now, starting to show signs of wear and tear
I would like to upgrade ankles, but will just stick with what I got.

When I think of it, most of my kit is over ten years old. My Gortex raincoat is 17 years old and still going strong. My oldest item is an ice axe which my father gave me, made in 1955.
