Post by: Al Fresco on December 31, 2011
Mountain rescue teams are using a new phone app to help find lost walkers. The program called sarloc leds the team to the exact location of the user.
I have serched for this on Android and cant find it, anyone know if its on the iphone?

SARLOC is so simple it's genius.

it's not even an app.  it's a web page which queries the phone's location.  There's a good chance this could be made to work even if you're not using a full blown smartphone.
