I think it says that somewhere on the back of my fridge freezer.
What does it mean for you?
it means a reduced length barrelled pea shooter in .17 hornady magnum rimfire calibre(4.5mm) firing a 17 grain (approx 1.1 gram) projectile, with hawke high definition variable magnifacation scope, zooming from power of 3x to 9x, with an optical lense size of 50mm, the sak mod is a sound moderating device (some what like a car exhaust) filled with baffles to moderate the noise/report from the pea shooter. but being a super sonic projectile (reaching 2550 ft/s or 1738.63 mph) the .17 bullet breaks the sound barrier, causing a sonic boom as the bullet reaches mach 1 (768 mph), the mod or "silencer" cannot stop this noise. just the noise from the spent propelant powder exiting the barrell. ;D.
it means i can eat rabbits.

Oh, a gun ;)
Jeepers man I hope you where able to copy and paste that! Sounds like some yoke. Not having a clue about guns I found that interesting, especially the speed bit. I have only ever shot at some clay pigeons, I don't reckon my gun was anywhere near that speed.
-
its all from the top of my head, and the speed is written on the back of the bullet box haha.
i could have just said it was a small rifle suitable for shooting small prey, with a scope on top and silencer on the end, but i wanted to feel special.
by the way, who said i was any good at using it :-X
-
Sounds like Santa was good to you all. :)
I got a Garmin forerunner 110 (so I can see just how far and suitably exhausted I am after each run) and a headlamp (much more expensive than the one I wanted, but it's a good un). Also treated myself to a pair of trail runners for a bit of grip and slightly less soggy toes when running off road.
-
what sort of torch did you get? i have a thing for torches (and tents, and sleeping bags, and boots, and rucksacks, and coats, and hats, but not gaiters, i hate gaiters 8) )

I only ever shot 5.56mm, 9mm, .38 and .22 and I aint got a clue what your saying. Take it as a licensed firearm?
Done a few comps. Was quite good until a got proper teaching and got better lol
-
.17hmr is a magnum rimfire round, which basically means its in a casing slightly bigger than what you'd expect, its in a necked down 22 magnum case.
i've only ever shot .308/7.62, .222, .223/5.56, 22-250, .243, 6.5x55, .270, 30-06, 9mm, .45, 38 special, 22lr, 22mag, 17hmr, and the daddy .50.
got to admit that i had to pay to play with 3 or 4 of them in las vegas, but sure its worth it ;D

Plus a firesteel, maya dust, collapsible pint glass and some odd firelighting sticks. The Rab jacket is a birthday pressie though...

For such an expensive jacket I think the shine makes it loOk a bit cheap. Still, it's super toasty, just hope it sticks the pace.
Lol shiny coat buddies ;D I actually liked the shiny but I was told it goes dull :(
-
wow some cool xmas gifts guys. Well i got a Suunto Core All Black watch...its sweet ;D
-
I planned to take it to the New Year camp but chickened out. Didn't think sitting round a fire and plundering round a forest in the dark was a good plan with such an expensive jacket. I'll just use it for non-forest use I think so to date it's not been out of the bag. Have high hopes it will revolutionize my kit to a degree being so warm but light. A quick test showed it was lighter than the down vest I usually carry but I'm guessing that with sleeves and a filled hood it will be much warmer meaning in slightly warmer weather I might be able to shed a layer.

Gave mine a quick whirl yesterday in the wind, totally windproof :)
Have you looked at yourself with the hood up it looks ridiculous :) my head looks like its twice as high lol but it's bound to keep your noggin warm

I got moneys for Christmas which I find to be excellent as it stops mother from buying me stuff I dont want. I bought myself a Berghaus C7 pro series rucksack and I had some left over so I bought a Rab Vapour rise jacket.
Had the jacket out today for a little test run it was incredibly windy and the jacket was fantastic. Quick jaunt was up trassey track, through (incredibly) windy gap up Meelmore to the summit for some soup and then down the other side was very impressed with the jacket.

It's Hope Vision. I had been eyeing up the Silva X-trail. Not sure if I've got a better head torch or Hisself got ripped off to be honest. I've never had one before.
Works fairly well for getting dragged behind a husky at high speed in the forest after dark anyway. He tells me there's an X-trail on it's way this month as well; so once it arrives we'll have to compare the two of them.
-

Spot the gun nut! :) its nice to see santa bringing some proper man toys. CZ's are nice too I've had 3 of them and they were great guns.
Santa brought me a shortboard surfboard, its a big step up from the 7'9" bic minimal I'm used to so I've got the perfect excuse to get out more and get used to it :D

Vapour Rise is magnificent, good buy. Been using mine a lot around town on the bike, so breathable and warm and doesn't mind the rain.
Lots of lovely things. Suunto watches looking swell, awesome rabbit gun, headtorches... and a book about Peru: Can't beat a bit of inspiration or trip planning!
My housemate gave me Ranulph Fiennes book on Scott which looks pretty interesting, trying to finish my current book to get stuck into it. Gifting myself a Forerunner 305 and lots of debt /assets in the form of bike racing stuff (can't put a price on health) ;D
-
