To all Geocachers, I thought you might be inrterested in this.
New Years Resolution Event 2012
http://coord.info/GC38BA6
Date: January 14th 2012 @ 10am. Information: The walk this year is taking place in Glendalough Co. Wicklow. We'll be walking the wonderful "Spink & Glenealo Valley" loop walk. This is a great walk and there are great views looking down on Glendalough.
This has beeen going for the last couple of years. Last year in was in Carlingford. It was snowing but they went ahead with it. Unfortunately a geocacher went over on his ankle and we had to call the Mourne Mountain Rescue Team to get him off. They tried using the helicopter. They could not do the rescue due to heavy winds. Here is a video of the attempt . You can see me in the last fading shot of the casualty. I am in the red coat.
I am hoping to be there.

doesn't look that windy in the video, shows how the pictures don't always tell the full story as those guys can fly in some very rough conditions, i suppose it was because he was in the trees that made it more difficult, maybe open ground would have made it possible? i'd be tempted to do the wicklow walk, will have to see if i'm working that weekend, if anyone is staying over i can highly recommend this b&b http://www.trooperstownwoodlodge.com/ and this restaurant in laragh http://www.thewicklowheather.com/
