Title: RESQME
Post by: Typo-On on November 25, 2011
I finally got around to sorting out something I have wanted to do for a while, purchasing a RESQME. A seatbelt cutter and window breaker in a tidy keyring sized package.
http://www.resqme.com/ (http://www.resqme.com/)

I have wanted these for ages but never got round to ordering them. I wanted them partly because well... its a gadgety thing but also.... well really just because its a gadget, but I convinced myself that having one 'just incase' was a good idea. But after seeing the video of the M5 crash and watching ppl trying to open a door then try to break the window of the car it made my mind up.

So we now have matching keyrings on our keys :)

Oh God I'm so easily sold!  i see they are on Amazon at £10.99, or on another at £8.99 with another. How much did you buy it for?

I suppose it is something that could be useful if you should have the misfortune to come upon the scene of an accident.

That's actually a pretty cool bit of kit. While the video on their site did make me nauseous with it's sales BS, some of the YouTube videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiKxP7PzGJ0&feature=related) show it to work very well.

He was selling the type that are a folding knife with a soft serrated edge to cut the seatbelt. I would imagine they work perfectly but I wouldn't touch it  :-\

For it to be of use you have to have it nearby in the car. It is has a 3 1/4 inch blade and locks  :o Wouldn't fancy explaining that to the PC Plod. At best you'll have it confiscated and at worst a free ride in police car and a trip to your local magistrates  :-\
