Title: Woodland Camping Spots - Any ideas?
Post by: velvetmonkey on November 21, 2011
Hi,

Giving the new Bivvy bag and the tarp it’s first outing some time soon.
Can't make MB's Lough Shannagh trip this weekend.

Think I'll stick to the trees for the first outing........

Can anyone recommend any woodland spots?

Thanks

The area marked in green on the map is a cracking spot, out of the way, beside water and there is a bit of timber there to burn in a hobo.

I'm a big fan of Annalong Wood - anything North of the main track through the forest (not touched by the unfortunate fire) is quite good.  Water nearby and a few wee buildings to bothy in should the absolute worst of weather close in.  Again plenty of nearby branches for your stove
